Tucked away among ancient trees, this lush green pool is more than just water—it’s a sanctuary. Sunlight dances on the surface, laughter ripples through the air, and worries seem to dissolve with each stroke.

A place of solitude and connection, of camaraderie and calm, where women of all ages come together to swim, to reflect, and to share in the simple pleasure of being in the water.

Jefferey & Jason

‘Everytime my partner and I go to Brighton, we have to compete over a game of Dolphin Derby on the Pier. We have so many soft toys at home we don’t know what to do with them!’

Rosie & Ray

 Rosie appears many times over in this painting and now is the owner of the original piece gifted to her as a surprise by her Dad Ray. Rosie has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer for a year and the completion of the painting coincided with her finishing her treatment. You will be able to spot Rosie and many of her family and friends in this piece as we worked together to get as many of their treasured moments in as we could. Rosie secretly asked to paint her and her Dad in having a hug on the Pier. Can you spot them? 

5% of profits from the Special Proofs will be being donated to Barts Charity who have been supporting Rosie and her family throughout her treatment.

 

Rob & Fatboy Slim

Rob – I can’t think about Brighton beach without going back to 2002 when Norman Cook put on the UK’s biggest ever party there. The atmosphere, the music he played, the chaos that ensued and the fun we had. A quarter of a million people lost in revelry dancing until the early hours! 

Fatboy Slim. I can’t walk down this stretch of beach without thinking back to the first time I came down to Brighton in 1980 to see the Athina B shipwrecked. To 42 years of living here, filling it with people a couple of times, but most of all just watching the world go by. Whether I am running, jogging or just hanging out, this is my beach and I love it.

 

Juliet & Skip

We have wonderful memories of Tooting Lido.  Specifically, I used to leave my flat on the common wearing my wetsuit, with my swimming cap and goggles on and stride across the common ready to swim. After my swim I’d just walk right back home. In hindsight it might have been a bit of a sight to see a girl, fully clad in a wetsuit striding through the park but it made my boyfriend Skip (now husband of 15 years) laugh and we still talk about it.  

Olivia & Henry

I’ve been with my partner (Henry) for the last 8 years since we were 16, and one of the first trips we took together was to Brighton.Trying to play it cool and impress me, Henry agreed to go on some rides at the pier (despite HATING rides 😅) but picked the smallest one thinking it would be a safe bet and he’d get through it ok. Well… he was in for a surprise.

This ride chucked us side to side, up and down, and all while being suspended over the sea which was terrifying. We came off the ride and laughed all the way back to our hotel – after buying a fridge magnet to remember the memory forever of course.

 

Marie

‘One summer we packed up and it felt like we were gone for the whole six weeks. My Mum and Dad loved being by the sea which is why Dad bought the VW Camper in bright orange. Off we went, me and my two brothers and my Mum and Dad, on Adventures. It isn’t until you are older you realise just what those little adventures meant along the way.’

I would be in the centre of the rooftop party watching a fabulous drag queen with massive hair entertain us all day long. I’d have a drink in hand, loving life!
